Well "gusset" sounds good to me...hehe

Still to do...............

Glass the pieces to top of gussets.

Finish the bilge area and install drain hole.

Glass floor bow to sturn.

Do some fixing on the underside, a few spots where the outer keels are delaminated.

Bit more work done.

I cut some more parts and epoxy them in place.

Did some glass, some more on the sides where floor tabs in for extra strength.

Glassed in bilge area, will probably give a second glassing in the bilge.

Still have not install drain, i may go to a 1 inch as it seems to be what is most common for drain plug in local stores.

Checked 5 different places and not one has a 3/4" plug, and only one sales it but has been out for some time and they don't know when they will have more.

Well i am not sure i want to do this again, it is hard work.

Hoping to enjoy this thing as much as i can for the last month of summer.

September can be cold around here.

Looks like you will be ready to wet a line pretty soon ! I've never seen a seat pedestal made like that before .. I like the idea .. Only concern would be lateral movement maybe .. If it ever did start to wiggle back and forth you could glass in some little triangle pieces underneath where the post meets the bottom of the plywood ... Nice work !!

Yup i just made some simple stools and put a swivel seat on it.

Well first day out was good, boat floats ( nice and flat).

Need a better outboard, it is powerful enough but is very hard to start as in you need big muscles.

So here are the pics of my day out whit my new-ish old boat.

sphelps, i just now got what you are saying about the seat base.

I made them out of 2 pieces of 1/2 '' glued together, the one on the bottom has 1'' hole that the post goes in to,
so the post is epoxy to both pieces of 1/2'' just like a chair leg, it goes in to the seat it self. as for on the floor,
i used some thickened epoxy and also glassed in the bottom end of leg.

kcassells, yup it sure is satisfying to enjoy this thing after all the work i did to get it to this point,
and also the fact she had as much fun as i did makes it that much more worth the work.
also have 7 grand kids that will what to go out whit me in this thing, so i am glad it turned out
to be very stable on the water even in choppy conditions.
