Check with the charter companies in your area. Rental fees, your cut, and maintenance costs, how many months of the year you can charter all makes a huge difference in prices. If you expect it to pay for your boat in a few years so you end up with a free boat, forget it.

The Charter companies that charter your boat make money. A boat owner that charters his boat does not. It does help with the yearly cost of owning a boat.
