Hi,
Just bought a duck boat with a 20-25hp Older Johnson motor. Well i need to order some parts to get running again but having a hard time finding any model# or ser.# since the motor was painted military olive green everywhere even over the little plate. My question is there any kind of mdl. or ser. numbers somewhere stamped on the engine? Looks like mid to late 70's to maybe early 80's. I guess i can get some paint remover and go over the plate to ck. the #

The serial number will be on the silver disc/plug just forward of the coils. The coils themselves are the style used with the low tension magneto, which dates it as somewhere between 1973 and 1976.
