I'm going to remove my transom mount transducer. I don't have any 5200 can I use marine grade 2 part epoxy to fill in the holes? I was thinking of gobering up some toothpicks with the epoxy and packing the holes. Is that better than trying to fill the holes with just epoxy?

When filling screw holes, I always put a screw into the hole along with sealant, especially if the hole goes thru...what would happen if the sealant popped out of the hole ??

To repair transducers holes, I use stainless, flat heads screws the same size I removed.

Countersink the gelcoat deep enough to put the screw head roughly 1/8” below the surface. Coat screw with epoxy (MarineTex) then screw in hole. Fill countersinks with white MarineTex. Let dry then sand and buff out.

I was going thru my epoxy stash and found a brand new tube of JB Weld Water Weld. Is this stuff as good as the marine tex?
