I know this is a very old post but I rebuilt my 2001 200HP FICHT completely. New pistons, bearings, etc. I had a ring get stuck..broke.. scored a cyclinder. That's why I rebuilt it. Anyway... I would REALLY like to understand something here... I know if the oil lift pump stops working I'll get a warning... if I run out of oil I'll get a warning. BUT what would hasppen if the oil injector / manifold assembly goes bad?? That's the final componet that deliveres the oil right? Unless I'm not understanding the system seems like you would not know if that was defective until your engine is destroyed.. am I wrong about this? I am temped to buy a NIB oil injector if that's the case to protect my rebuild investment. Greatly appreciate any insights here. Thanks and sorry to hack this thread but it was very relevant to my question so I thought I'd post it here.
