fiberglass repair

so i repaired the hole on the bottom of my boat with fiberglass, it has been sanded down, but now i am curious as to what should i put over the fiberglass, or do i even need to add a gel coat or paint over the repair.

If you're not to picky I'd just wipe it down with some Acetone and spray paint it with several coats of Rustoleum epoxy paint.
