I hope this is ok to ask on this forum. I'm looking for a shop to do floor repair on a hydra sports bass boat. I have a soft spot around the drain. The fiberglass covered wood is falling apart there. Would like to find someone in a couple hours of St. Louis who can do a quality repair and check the stringers, transom, etc to make sure nothing else is going bad. I appreciate any recommendations you can make
Thanks sam

How old is the boat?? What kind of History do you have on it's care and Maintenance?

It's a 93, hydra sports ls175 bass boat. We are the original owners. Kept outside year round with cover on trailer. In the water @ 60 days a year. Never had any interior or structural work done. Soft spot in floor is about 3' diameter,

How much do you love the boat?

In most cases the small soft spot in the floor turns into a total gut and rebuild, many thousands to have someone do it for you. Not trying to get you depressed, but start reading the "soft spot", or "rotten floor" threads.

Yup, boats of this vintage are notorious for rotting from the bottom up. If the Deck is soft, more than likely there's a LOT more structural damage below. This could run into a LOT of expense if you hire it done. And even then there's no guarantee it'll be done right. That's why everyone on this forum does their own restorations. Most have never done any fiberglass work etc...but with the help and encouragement from the members here, they always seem to get the job done and done Better than the factory did it. A full Gut restoration usually runs from 2-4K if YOU do the work. If you pay someone it'll probably be double that or more.
