Re: Fiberglass Repair help please!

I am extremely excited to get started.

I will probably tear a portion of the floor out tomorrow morning and see what's going on with the inside of the hull. I am also going to try to get by a fiberglass wholesaler tomorrow (if they are open) and pick up some supplies.

Well I cut into the boat today, and I am definitely glad I did. Can't believe I ever considered not repairing the hull from the inside. Hopefully you can see what I mean in the pictures.

Going to cut out the rest of the side of the boat today, family just went to the grocery store for a couple of hours (hopefully money left over to buy boat supplies)

It seems from what I am reading I need to cut out the bad fiberglass and replace the damaged area entirely. Is this truly the case or do can I just reinforce it?

Looks like you are on the right path, its not difficult work, just lots of it. It may seem overwhrlming, but I too am rebuilding my first boat. Lots of great help here. best thing is don't set a deadline. the only deadline is to finish it. If you set deadlines and you don't meet them the project gets frustrating.

Keep us posted. sail on... tink:)
