Fiberglass/Gel coat question

planning to build some storage boxes in the back of my Carolina Skiff.

I guess i am going to using Polyester resin and Gel coat. So after I get it glassed do I apply the gel coat while the resin is tacky or do I have to wait for it to dry?

Use unwaxed resin let it cure then apply gelcoat. Unwaxed resin stays tacky for the gel to stick.....your last coat of gel should be waxed to fully cure.

thanks, can't I roll the gel coat on instead of spraying it. The boat is a fishing skiff not a pleasure boat, looks are not that important for this

Yes gel can be rolled on or brushed if the finish is not an issue.
