Thanks guys. :)

I'd tripped over a cable or hose and fell. On the way down, I stuck out my right hand to stop myself and injured that, then fell onto the floor jack, hitting the right side of my face onto the saddle, then whomped down on my right shoulder. Fortunately, my eyeglasses mostly protected me but they got scratched up in the bifocal area. My glasses are still usable and I have a regular appointment in a week or so. Along the way down, my left big toe got seriously bruised. Must have whanged it on the concrete floor.

At first, I decided to just Shake it Off. (Insert Taylor Swift video here! 😆 )

My wife and I continued cleaning & clearing the garage and got the boat back in there. Then, a couple hours later, my hand started really swelling, so I went to a local Urgent Care. The doc there told me that since I'd hit my head/face that I needed to go to the ER for a CT scan, especially since I'm on a blood thinner and while there to get x-rays of my foot and hand. She reminded me of what happened to Bob Saget. So, off I headed to the ER.

CT scan was clear and no broken bones in my foot and hand. Just bruised.

I took some Tylenol and am doing fine. My hand is doing better and I can close it most of the way. Strength isn't back yet, but it's improving.

I'd post pix of my ugly toe 😵‍💫, but you know... pix. :sneaky:

Thanks again.

You are fortunate that "without pics it didn't happen!" So, all your injuries are just figments of your imagination! LOL!

Glad it wasn't "serious" and you are on the mend. (BTW, medical definition of serious: If it is you, it is serious. If it is someone else, it is minor.)

Oh man. What way to to the day.
Were you able to reach and handle to at least lift your off the floor?
Yeah that shaking off thing only works for kids.
The last accident I was in I decided to shake it off and refused the ambulance service.
Later that day I caught a ride to the ER.
Had 3 broken ribs and bruised intestines which I had never heard of.
All the Best to a speedy recovery.

Yes, I was able to get up after I rested a minute or so. I was able to move to the nearby portable air tank and used that to help lever myself up. It wasn't easy or painless, but I got it done. Then I sat my butt down. :sneaky:

At 71 years old, I was being as careful as I could while in there, but must not have lifted my foot high enough while tip toeing through the maze, causing the trip.

Bruised intestines? Ouch!

Wow glad it wasn’t any worse, and no internal bleeding. The blood thinner thing sucks. I’m in the same boat.

Glad there was nothing broken!

My favorite was letting a trailer drop on me and trapping me while trying to replace an axle. I heard gurgling noises and thankfully it was water draining out of the trailer frame. My daughter realized my calls were not the cows across the road, I was 250' away from the house. No real damage except for a very bruised ego. My wife used a 2x6 to lift the trailer up enough for me to shimmy out. Luckily it trapped me below my rib cage. It did put a good scare in me.

Yeah, I carry my phone with me everywhere I go, "just in case." I was lucky that my wife had hers within earshot this time. Most times she doesn't. :sneaky:

For me, it's a risk to do any work alone. But, ya gotta do whut ya gotta do. 🙃
