The problem I have at the ramps in Wilmington, NC is the boat cannot be floated on the trailer. The bow has to be lifted about 3 inches up to fit rollers under bow to secure. The witnesses agree it seems when I winch the boat in; it seems to be lifting off the bunks. The bunks in the water are about one foot showing in the water and the fenders are about one inch under. The trailer any further in the water the bow bangs the winch and any more bunk showing (less trailer in the water), I cannot winch boat in. I really do not want to use the engine to thrust the boat on the trailer. The boat/trailer on my truck is very level and rides like a dream in my 5.7 Toyota Tundra. The previous owner launched at Wacca Wache boat ramp in Murrells Inlet and there is not much of an incline. In Wilmington, NC its a whole lotta incline. Cannot lower winch down to due bow eye. Raising the trailer hitch would put more incline on the trailer. Lowering the forward bunks would make me raise the boat higher but less trailer in the water. Right? The boat is at the dealer where the previous owner bought the boat and they really did not understand my frustration. Other then recognize my frustration. They really are a great dealership. So its a physics problem me not being Einstein, I've come to the world of vast knowledge for a possible solution. Any ideas. Getting another trailer is a possibility And which one should I get.
P.S. The tides do not effect this issue. My trailer tongue is very short. (Swinging tongue) When I open my tailgate I'm about 10" from the winch post.
