Re: Extra Trailer Hub

Most disk brake rotors on trailers have an integral hub. Are yours separate from each other? What brand are they?

Very surprised your trailer only has brakes on one axle. Actually, I am shocked you only have brakes on one axle.

Im sorry im not quite understand you. I am new to thinking about trailers. "integral hub"? My breaks look just like breaks on a car. There is a bracket that holds the calaper and the rotor is just held in place on the hub from the rim. I am going to change a tire tomorrow on an axle that has a break on it. I will take some photos and post them.

This is a disc brake rotor that has an integral hub. Notice that you can't separate the disc from a housing where the bearings are:

here are rotors that would slip over a regular idler hub

This is what car rotors look like.

Mine is the bottom photo. When I snapped a few wheel studs last season I had to take the rotor off to replace them. The hub stayed on the trailer. So I should be good right?

Yes. The studs were on the hub right?

Re: Extra Trailer Hub

You may just want to test fit the rotor on the hub but you are more than likely fine.

Re: Extra Trailer Hub

Thanks guys. I have one last question. The extra hub I bought came with two seals. One 2-1/8 and one 2-1/4 I dont use both of them right? I just use one on the back of the hub, whichever one fits over the axle. Is that right?

Yes. If you want, pull off one of your hubs and measure the axle or trial fit the seal over the axle.
