hello all
so it s a 78 1400 sn 5092xxx. problem is i put in new WP and when i took it to the lake for a test, i realized that the tattle tales are not putting out a good flow of water because a lot of exhaust is coming out of them. when i dropped the lower unit it looked like there was some exhaust putty at the junction of the exhaust, know i appreciate it may have been doing more then i anticipated. my question is can there be enough of an exhaust leak there to impede water circulation through the upper engine or is there a bigger problem i need to be looking for. secondly, is there a better fix for the exhaust leak then putty. haven t had any luck finding previous discussions on this, if it's already been done, please point me in the right direction.
thanks
