I have twin '95 175 Johnsons w/ the VRO's still connected.
The port engine always seemed to use more oil but didn't really take much note, figured 2 engines couldn't be exactly the same.
We oil usage on the port engine has gotten MUCH worse,
I verified no air leak by installing a clear hose right before the VRO pump (on the gas line), no bubbles.
I then connected a 1/4" ID hose to the oil line going to the VRO pump and marked it every inch.
Made the following measurements @ ~800RPM in neutral
The port engine used ~6" in 36 sec, the stb engine used ~6" in 3 min!
Looks like the port engine is using oil 6X faster than the stb.........
Plan on rebuilding the pump.

Any other thoughts?

There is not much that can go wrong with the oil side.----Just a wee piston o-ring running in a small metal cylinder.-----Do check the check valves in the air motor and look for air leaks.

So will the rebuild kit (OEM) address this o-ring you mentioned?
If the gas diaphragm is damaged would it cause high oil usage?
Do you agree the rate of oil usage is very high?
Where are check valves? Do I need to disassemble the 2 halves of the pump?

Received the kit today.........removed the pump and disassembled.
Pretty sure I found my problem..........see pics below.
Had a bit of difficulty getting the housing installed over the new diaphragm........took a bit of adjusting, needed to push the diaphragm (on the side w/ the springs) in w/ a flat blade screw driver. May even disassemble again before installing to make sure it's installed correctly.......
