Evinrude yachtwin 3hp peeing question

I have inherited a Evinrude yachtwin 3hp and when I got it started after I replaced the impeller it was peeing out of the block towards the front on the intake side is there some sort of tube I need to have on there or a seal that needs replaced

It doesn't seem to be coming from over there it seems like it is by part #24 on that diagram although I didn't have the chance to double check and won't be able to till Saturday

A 3hp engine does not have a tell tale so the only place you should see any water is a few drops or a spray from the exhaust back pressure relief ports on the back of the "leg"

If water is leaking from the exhaust cover plate gasket replace the gasket.

just in case try to torque all the bolts in case someboby was in there and did not close it up properly.

it does get pretty hot under that plate because the 3hp exhaust plate is not water cooled like other ones on biggger engines

see a 7.5 exhaust cover with the inside plate and external cooled cover plate
