Evinrude tilt and trim.

Is it possible to somehow retro fit a tilt and trim unit from a 1996 Johnson 50hp to a 1977 evinrude 85hp? Insight please!

Don't know but a comment: Can the transom and swivel brackets be swapped?

It will be interesting if you can pull this project off.----None of these parts will interchange without welding / machining.-------Then that single cylinder may not have enough oomph to trim the 85 HP.

According to the parts book there were two different T/T units for the 1996 50 hp motors.

I assumed it was the more common 2 cylinder motor.----The OP might have a 3 cylinder model.;-----That is why the model # MUST be posted here.

Wont matter a single or three cylinder trim wont fit into the old style mid section...77 used the clamp on trim with wing.

Agreed the 77 model is shown with the external trim / tilt cylinders.----This forum should require pictures / model numbers before questions are allowed to be posted.
