Evinrude Gel seal II

I bought a tube of Permatex Anaerobic gasket maker at my local NAPA along with the surface prep activator. I don't see why I can't sub it for Gel Seal II? Any advice?

Never tried it, always used Gel Seal II. I'm sure somebody else will chime in with more opinions.

I have used the Permatex product for years. Never a problem.

Can you use without the surface prep activator or is there a substitute Dealer did not have it

Strange how 2 identical threads at one time, lol.

Anyways, the prep activator is just to aid in it curing quicker. Just clean it well and go at it, then let it cure.
