Evinrude Cylinder Head Part Number

I bought my little '56 Fastwin as a tinkering project...and a lot of tinkering it has been. Recently, in an attempt to replace the spark I stripped the cylinder head. My question is: does anyone know what the part number for the cylinder head is or where I can find one?

A number on the head said 203251, is this the only number that will work?

My '56 parts catalog says fastwin 15hp models 15918 and 15919 have cyl head part #277211

Salvage yards under top secret files at top of this forum. Try Tim's first 218-682-2331. Have motor model number handy.

You could also install a 3/8" depth 14mm stainless steel heli coil to restore the plug threads. Heli coil kits are available at most auto part type stores, major hardware stores, etc. Using Heli Coils of this type is a common practice.

Or if you can find a machine shop that will do it, go there. Also "good marinas" have the tools. A lot cheaper than buying the whole kit for a one shot deal.

Cylinder head for a 1956, model 15016, is 277211. Head gasket is 203247. You ARE going to replace the gasket....aren't you?

I imagine you could find a used head on aomci.org webvertize for a good price.
