evinrude big twin

i got me a old evinrude big twin 55hp i think it has spark and truns over good but wont start has any one got any idear what it could be..
and if any one has a wire diagram for the motor it self please let me know as the wires need to be replace and wana make sure they are in right spot..

the two numbers on it are #40552A #0442236 any help would be nice thanks
