Does anyone have any Tips or Tricks for increasing Horse Power and performance for a late 60's 9 1/2 Horse outboard??

I think you'll be out of luck on boosting hp on a 9.5. Since they commonly have exhaust leaks, try removing the cowl and seeing how it runs. If it's putting out the full power a 9.5 makes, it's all you're going to get.

As JB said , not much you can do with that mtr. If it runs better with the hood off you've got an exhaust leak. I've drilled holes in the hood yrs ago to cure this exhaust prob. Could not get the parts to fix the leak.
