Evinrude 86 15 hp waterpump change

Newbe here. I just bought a used motor and I'd like to get out in this weekend if possible. I don't have a repair manual yet and I'd like to replace the impeller.
Can someone tell me if I need to know anything special about this job?
I expect I'll unbolt the lower unit and remove it? Does the shifter need to be in reverse or anything?
What can I expect in terms of getting the pump housing off? It's been in saltwater, but seemingly well maintained.

I intend to learn how to service this moter and keep it for a long time. It's a great thing to have this website and folks like you!
