Evinrude 6hp fuel pump problem

I've pulled the fuel pump and it has the following serial no. on the back which refers to a 9.5 hp model. Will this effect the running of my 6 hp??

It is running but when WOT without pumping the primer bulb it dies.

as hidef said in your other thread...if this is working properly it will not effect the running of your engine, if the motor runs properly while you pump the primer bowl, that's a classic fuel pump/fuel delivery problem...as hidef stated..the f/p number 304089 has superceded to 0388685 which is listed for a 1972 6 hp....if you look at numerous 2 cylinder engines of a given year, or number of years, they'll all use the same fuel pump
