I have a 1990 200hp Evinrude and the water intake hose has become disconnected. I cannot find where to reconnect it. I have looked on the evinrude web site at the parts drawings but it showes the hose and its fitting but not were it connects to the water tube in the mid section. Does anyone know where it connect or has a picture of the connection?

It just lays loose in bottom of cowling, it siphons water out of cowling if it gets water in it.

THAT particular "water intake" is for the aspirator. It's supposed to just sit in the bottom of the cowling and suck up any water that might magically appear and eject it in the pee stream.

Ok, that doesnt sound like its going to fix my lack of a pee stream. If there is not water coming out of the discharge (pee stream) does that mean the water pump is bad or could there be other issues?

Thank you for replying!

if impeller has not been changed in the last 2 years, change it, do your gear oil also.

From what I understand the lower unit needs to come off to get access to the water pump. Will i need to replace a gasked when reinstalling the lower unit? Othere then a water pump kit is there any other parts needed?

A whole new kit will supply everything you need. There is no gasket between the lower unit and the midsection.

You'll need to disconnect the shift rod before removing the lower unit. Pay considerable attention to the direction of the shift rod...it would be a good idea to count the number of times the rod turns clockwise until it cannot go any further, write that number down. When you are done with the impeller replacement, reverse the shift rod the same amount of turns counterclockwise.

When you put the lower unit back up , you have to be careful and get the midsection's water pickup tube into the pumps hole...not so easy by yourself, then while you are trying to ge tthe tube in the hole you also have to get the shift rod to NOT turn on you and come through it's hole under the block.

Aslo during that phase there is a gasket that you'll need to try not to crimp that goes between the exhaust tube and the lower unit.

I usually do the first two (tube/rod), then once I get one or two bolts started, I make sure the gasket is not crimped going slowly with the other bolts.

Not too much fun, but not too hard either.
