Evinrude 115083D NO STARTER action

Hi,

The boat ran fine last year then stored for winter. I have all power to boat, power thru ignition switch, power to main term on starter solenoid, power to I terminal on SOL when key switch to start, then nothing. Replaced with new SOL same issue. So it seems that the S terminal needs to get a ground from somewhere to activate SOL and to put PWR to starter, but I can't locate a wiring diagram This has the electrics for FWD, REV with after market toggle switches, could this cause a start issue if one bad? Also have replaced 20 amp fuse near starter, found it blown, replaced, blown again, so don't know why that happened or what that fuse is for..

Any ideas?

You should have 12 Volts across the 2 small terminals on the solonoid when the key is turned to 'Start'.
Use a voltmeter not a test lamp.

Thanks Fed,

I was using my meter and I am getting 12 volts to the "I" terminal on the SOL, but not to the "S" terminal. I suspect that the S terminal is the ground side? if so I am not getting the required ground when key switch is to start therefore the circuit not complete for SOL to activate starter?
