Oopsie! I know I was very careful with the last boat purchased ... all the measurements worked (with knowing I would have to take a little off the trailer tongue). But still, before the deal was done I had to be able to back the boat into the garage. Yep, just fit. All good! Don't understand how the height of the trains would not be looked into before signing a contract. Good reason for management to be fired ... probably needed a couple up the line fired also ...

ha ha yea , a couple of times i misjudged the height ,
one boat i measured to the centimetre ,we forgot to allow for the angle of the driveway. reversed up the drive from the street and the missus was screaming STOP , i am thinking WTF is she on about , got out of the car the look and i am about to take out the windscreen frame on the newly acquired boat.

the next time was on a project i built from a basket case in the back yard didn't even think about height getting it out till i got all the work needed done in the yard ,
we went to take it for the first splash and realized then the newly made windscreen was never going to fit out the front shed not even with letting the tires down as i did the first time to get that extra 1/2 inch that was needed there ,
that boat ended up with a removable windscreen which in retrospect was good because i could then get it easily into the rear shed.

Every spring my wife reminds me about how our boat only fits into the garage on an angle (even with the swivel tongue) so that her car has to sit outside all summer.

At least she gets to park in the garage during winter. I could have the snowmobile trailer in there instead!

Built a garage 35 years ago and went with 9' doors just in case. The first time I backed the Ebbtide in busted off the stern light. When I finally got a hanger for my plane about the same year first time I pushed the plane in broke the fiberglass housing for the beacon on the vertical stabilizer. The previous renter had a Beech Bonanza Vee tail. I never thought to look up. Last year put a bimini top on by fishing boat. This shop next to my house also 9' doors. Door no problem, the rod racks that hang down from the rafters only clear now by about an half an inch. Got lucky for a change.

Our old carport fit our first boat just fine.
We knew our second boat would be 6 inches too tall to fit the carport,
so we had it replaced with a new carport that was 2 feet taller.
The Karens in the neighborhood went insane, even though there is no HOA.
Ended up making enemies for life.

As a kid all I wanted to do was go out in Grandpa's boat. Stored in the water all Summer, and outside all Winter it rotted. He got rid of it. Dad said we needed a "trailer boat". Mom said it needed to be stored indoors. But,,,,,,it wasn't going to go in our little garage because she would not allow Dad to store the car outside.

When I got married we built a new house and I drew up the blueprints. My wife's girlfriend said we had a garage with an attached house. Three cars, a jetski and the family boat all fit. With the towcar still attached to the boat.

The boat in the pic was sold after 35 years of garage storage, and she still was in showroom condition. The sale price made NADA values look silly.

Backed my boat down the driveway, install the Bimini, went to use it.
It will not fit under the eaves of the house, concrete driveway so no digging.
Now have a folding Bimini, towes well.

Yes, it's an '80 coupe with the limited production Full Vinyl roof and factory towing package. He was retired when I sold the boat in the picture. Now an SUV tows a bigger boat and the 'Bonne lives in my other garage, alongside our classic woodie.

Much bigger. I have a few other friends with even bigger garages.

My brother has one that is 40' x 60' that he can play pickleball inside when his motor home isn't in it. It's also heated. This is in addition to his normal 3 car garage.

When I realized my boat was to big, I just had a barn built...If I need a bigger one then that means the boat is to big for me !!
