Hi

I have just purchased a Evenrude Sportwin 10, I have no clue so far if it works. I'm presently looking for information on this motor. The serial number that I have found is 10014 51709.

Can someone tell me the year of this motor and if it is still possible to have parts if needed.

Thanks

10014 is a 1957, a popular motor among the old outboard crowd. Careful, somebody might try to talk you out of it.

Hi Coolguy147

I have just purchased the motor, did not have a chance to really try it. If it comes down to it, I will be posting for assistance. If I'm not in the right forum, please show me the way.

Thanks

FR

Do we have bad comments around this motor, for the visual look at this motor it looks in top shape, I'm suprised.

Re: Evenrude Sportwin 10

im not the only one with the experince to help u with ur motor but thanks :D

well to get u started before anything i suggest u check compression for the motor. tell us ur results. most of the time those motors r in really great shape. my 10hp at almost has 100psi by my guage. but guages on psi varys from each different item. im sure if i put a new headgasket on there i should get it over 100.

therefore ur looking for psi that r almost the same. so 10%% is what ur looking for inbtween the difference in ur motor.

to the point just check compression then well get along with the other things
