evenrude running problem

I have had my 1989 28 horse evenrude for a couple years and has ran great suddenly it has trouble starting, ocationally it will but dies. It has spark, appears to be getting gas and when it will start dies almost instantly.

Sounds like your float may be stuck. When is the last time you cleaned and rebuilt your carb?
