Engine won't turn over

I have a 2002 evenrude vtec 250hp on a wellcraft walkaround.

The engine started right up last season, but this spring I started going over and cleaning the corrosion on the wires and checking the fuses in the cabin. (not on the engine). After that the engine won't start.
After the key is turned I hear the fuel pump activate, but the engine doesn't turn over. I checked the solenoid. There is no power to the solenoid. (yellow/blue striped wire not getting power.) When I jumped the solenoid, the engine cranked.
Any help would be appreciated. Should I be thinking about the kill switch or neutral gear? Or something that I may have disconnected by accident?

Thank you very much for your replies. It turns out that it was the neutral switch. The problem now lies that the throttle is not at a straight up and down 90 degree angle for neutral. It needs to be brought back for neutral to register. (As can be seen in the attached picture) Is there a way to recalibrate this? Thanks again.

or did you misaligned some splines when reassembling..

presumably you did not touch the cables at the engine side so the misalignment should be up front when you put things back together no ???

Thanks. I didn’t touch the cables so I guess it is misaligned. Is there any manual or video that you know of that shows how to realign? I don’t know where I went wrong. I didn’t think I changed anything.

not familiar with what you have but can you not just remove the throttle (unbolt it) and realign it vertical center
