engine upgrade

I have a 1986 Wellcraft Elite 195 with a 4.3l omc cobra. I want to put a 5.7l chevy engine in it. Can the drive handle it?

Even if it will take the power it will have the wrong gear ratio in it. Finding a used drive will probably cost about the same as changing the gears.
