I have a 1980 VIP boat with inboard V-8. Want to convert to outboard. Any suggestions on possible problems with this change over. How will I determine how low the transom needs to be for outboard?

It can be done, but it's not a cheap and easy job, plus you need to do it right for it to work correctly. It would be much easier and cheaper to sell this boat and buy the one you want.

The length of the transom isn't an issue, that's the easy part. The issue is the design ofnthe craft and strength of the transom.

Take Ondarvr advice and find an outboard model and go from there.
