Engine stalls out upon acceleration

1998 Evinrude 3 cly. 2 stroke. Starts up and runs fine at low RPMs however when trying to get the boat up on plane the engine stalls out, stumbles and acts like perhaps it is lacking power from lack of gas. Not sure just where to start looking for the gemlins. Will check gas tank screen and fuel connections and fuel filter tomorrow. From there??? Thanks once more for your expertise and assistance.

Maybe it is lacking fuel. Have you tried to pump the bulb or pushed in the key to operate the primer solenoid valve?

Perhaps a carb cleaning is in order, firstly check the primer bulb, all all the lines.

If all that fails...might be a timing issue.

Do the basics first. Check compression, spark, fuel
