Sorry if I’m confusing anyone, iv confused my self on here already, the first v8 I found is gone. This other 350 iv found that has the hei on it looks to be older most likely a 2 piece main, mine is a 1 piece. But the other engine is complete and in a boat now. I have not bought any engine yet. When I said this engine it was to one I found not bought sorry. If it wasn’t for you all I’d probably bought a new/reman v6. And have thousands of dollars in another 200hp v6 if I’m lucky,

The wife likes the boat an doesn’t want a newer one, she also says if I’m gonna put a motor in it I have to redo the interior

You need a motor, get one, what ever it is the folks here know how to install it. You get a motor and help is available. Lots of opinions and most are good.

So I found an older 350 probly 4 bolt main it’s in a boat now which is nice cause il need the manifolds an stuff, but distributor looks like an hei for a truck doesn’t look like it has any of the mercury harness. Don’t really wanna use any non marine parts. I understand why they did, hei is as easy as It gets to make run. The way the engine tucks in tho I’d have to pull the engine out to change the distributor later. Where’s a good place to find parts ? Id wanna redo all the gaskets.
If the dizzy has a vac advance on it pass. It's a butcher job

400's with Siamese bores will be fine in a boat. However they are externally balanced. So you need the right flywheel for it. If it's stock, the drive will survive.

Make sure it does not have any go-fast parts. It needs a truck cam or boat cam
