engine removal

HI all,

I am just in the process of removing the mercruisr 3.0 from my starcraft to replace the coupler.

Can you confirm that the shift linkage needs to be removed? This is the one thing that i haven't seen mentioned when doing my research.

pull drive
disconnect cables from engine
disconnect electrical from engine
disconnect hoses from engine
unbolt rear mounts
unbolt front mount
lift out motor.
