Would like to change out the oem buick 300 and omc stringer set up to a more available and repairable set up. Looking for suggestions on a good combo.

Mercruiser 4.3 or 5.7 (depending on boat size) with alpha one gen 2 drive

Any swap will require a new transom and stringer setup. However it will be worth it
