I have a 98 200 hp johnson that i replaced the vro pump with a stand alone fuel pump. After installing the pump i now have a very noticeable miss at all speeds. This is with the muffs on so i'm reluctant to take it to the lake. I have no idea what I may have done during the install, the bulb pumps up fine, so are there any ideas out there what i need to look at? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

It could be that there is an issue with crankcase compression.----It is the PRESSURE that drives these pumps.-----How did motor behave with the VRO pump ?----Did you find something wrong with old pump ?

It ran fine before other than it was trying to run out of gas ( i had to keep priming the bulb for it to stay running) It didn't have this type of miss before. I haven't had a chance to look at the old pump yet.

My '98 Johnny 150HPV6 has an intermediate orifice on the carb or throttle body. They are open to the air. Give it a blast of spray solvent and see if that works. It is a brass tube under the air box.
