Ended today getting towed

Hey guys my boat is stuck in drive. When I take the cable that goes to the drive and move it. its jammed. The guy I bought the boat from said he had a new one installed last year. The boat had no signs of this until i went to take it out of forward. any Ideas?

Time to pull the drive and see if it's a cable or drive problem.

yup Pull the drive. sounds like what happenned to me a few years ago. The cable was routed to close to the fly wheel and broke. I found mine during my pre season check Good luck

Ayuh,... The cable close to the Y-pipe,+ a Bad impeller can do that too...

I am goin to haul the boat on wednesday and see what. happend, also were can I purchase a shift interupt switch mine is acting up. mercruiser 260 1985

Your shift interrupt switch is probably acting up because of your bad shift cable. Fix the cable first if needed and then go and diagnose the interrupt switch.
