A friend of mine, and former co-worker, who I actually bought the property I live on from, went to Manheim PA yesterday morning to pick up a Harley. He rode it back, and on 695(the Baltimore beltway) he lost control and wrecked.
I just got the call, he didn't make it :(
He leaves behind a wife, and young daughter. Hug your families...

Re: Embrace every day like it's your last.

Sorry about your friend and my condolences to his family.

I live every day to its fullest, can't let your ills get ya down. Best to have the quick one enjoying something that you like to do, better then waiting in a chair or having someone wipe the drew from your chin. I was given 1-2 years back in 2007 and here it is 2011, I do things that I'm not suppose to do and the wife gets upset. She doesn't like me using the snow blower in the winter, my answer to her is, "When you see the hump in the snow and the blower idling it probably is me, just do not run me over."

Your friend may have past on pre maturely but, he was doing what he enjoyed riding his new hog and for a moment was the king of the road. Lets just hope he did not suffer long.

Thanks guys, I feel terrible for his family. Way too young, a couple years older than me, not yet 50.

Not too far, it was on 695 where 702 splits off. He was used car manager at Norris Ford and I am assuming he picked the bike up for the dealership. I know he owns a nice anniversary edition Harley, so he is an experienced rider.

That is a bad area of the beltway. A lot of exit/on ramps in a small area.

Scott, sorry to hear the news ... my thoughts and prayers for your friends family and friends.

I USED to ride a good bit, but last year lost too many friends and neighbors from cycle accidents and from the EMS side, the accidents just piled up too fast and were too ugly - that was my motivation to get ride of all my bikes.

To all that ride, please be careful! And to all that are on the roads, remember to look for motorcycles!

Every time I hear someone fly by on a bike I cringe now.

Yep, and it is always tore up.
Here is a link to the local story. There is a picture of his bike in it, you can see the road was grooved up in that area.

Thanks and I agree with everything you said! I used to LOVE riding. Nowadays, I don't even seem to miss it, which is amazing because I used to have dreams I was riding years back.

Every bike I saw today, I said a silent prayer for the rider...
