Hello there. I am having difficulty identifying this electrical component. On the post, a "hot" wire is connected. The ring terminal is connected to a bar that feeds power to the trim for my I/O. If I connect the wire directly to the bar, the trim functions just fine. I'm not an electrician, but I know there has to be a reason this component is placed there. I have been to several marine supply stores, and no one has been much help to identify.

As of right now, I have cleaned the part and reinstalled. The trim is sort of functioning, but not as it should. There's definitely resistance occurring.

If it matters:
I/O is a 500 Series Konrad
Gearbox is a ZF 280
Powered by a Yanmar 6LYA-STP
Sea Ark VC Commander Diesel
