Duke Snider, the "Duke of Flatbush" died yesterday, February 27, 2011 at the age of 84. He is/was my mom's favorite baseball player, as she was born and raised on Long Island and is a Brooklyn Dodgers fan. As an 8 year old, I went to his Hall of Fame induction at Cooperstown. We only had to drive 475 miles and completely change our summer schedule, but that's how big of a fan she was.
