Aside from those using ultrasonic parts cleaners, does anyone use any alternatives to carb cleaner? I’ve heard of people using pinesol cleaner to soak in.

I just finished chemo, the last thing I want to be around is more chemicals!

I used Simplegreen in the ultrasonic with good results but not on its own. Give a try and see how it works for you.
All the best on the rest of your journey.

Boil a carb in a light solution of lemon juice. I did 4 CB 500/4 carbs with that trick. They were seized and packed with varnish. Too much lemon juice can pull the zinc coating off any parts that have it so you need to be careful if anything is zinc coated

Not personally but I have heard of it.
Give a try. Worst case scenario you will have something to clean the shop floor with handy.

simple green will take the finish off the carb and promote corrosion.

pinesol will not

however acetone works, so does diesel fuel.

I have never had a problem with simple green but I don’t use it straight either. I mix it wil Dawn dish soap. But by all means if others have had problems don’t use my method. 😂

I found a used ultrasonic locally for about the 1/3 the cost of retail.
Best investment I have ever made.

45 yrs ago, I used to use Lacquer Thinner, however, some Plastic Parts will melt in it
