Re: Ebay
I was involved in an auction (ebay) where I was a bidder on a boat that was priced too good to be true...Sure enough, seller pasted photos out of boattraderonline onto the ebay site, never owned the boat, and even had the nerve to call the actual marina selling the boat to forward information to questioning ebayers. FBI got involved, what a mess. There is much more bad going on in Ebay than most people know about. No reserve auctions are almost always cancelled at the last moment because the bid doesn't get high enough. Also, relating to large $$$ items, you better be very, very careful about what you are buying. Many of these are repos disguised as normal deals...I don't mind ebay for under $100 or so purchases, but for anything else, it really has its issues. By the way, has anyone ever tried to contact ebay about a problem, or a suspicion? I reported the selling of the boat that wasn't even owned from above, and it took ebay 48 hours to respond with a standard reply, directing me to contact my local authorities. The sellers feedback/profile was not even flagged or anything, I haven't checked back in a long time to see if they did, but it was at least a month...
