You're from the city, right?

Have you ever seen chicken poop before? Do you know what that green spot in chicken poop is?

I used to own 800 head of beef cattle way out in the country where I used to live. So yes, I do know what I am talking about.

Right, no hippos at the fish farms, but the Tilapia are in tanks where they feed on the poop of the real money fish for the farm (forgot what the species was) to clean the water so the water can be reused.

I was talking caught in local waters but I still must be full of ?%*! cause I do eat beef chicken and:horn: Tilapia....

You've never been to Lake Catherine in the summer then.

The Redneck Riviera is another warm weather migration destination for them too!

You have to extremely careful around all you can eat seafood buffets, they can be very short tempered and aggressive when feeding... especially the scarlet red ones.:embarassed:

When the non res. license were 17 bucks a year and the marina was there we would fish the tires they had there for the boils and did real good. Would sleep on boat for 2 or 3 days and eat and drink lunch and dinner at the marina loved that place if lake got rough could pay 10 bucks and tie up for the night. But one night was to nice to the wildlife that hung out there and yikes had to run for my life life lesson learned really miss the good old days there.:pride:

Ya you got to skin them if you just do the legs cut off and you can start skinning with fingers. Need pliers when you get to the knee joints if you fry fresh they will bounce around in the pan alittle heard if you frezy first will not do that but never tried it.
There is a guy shows how to skin the whole frog and looks like you save and get a lot more meat if I find link will send to you.
Turtles a little tough but good in a stew real pain to get out of the shell.

neither are entirely true. it can be tender as pot roast and not hard to clean. like with most so called trash fish or animals. all you need to do is consult a pro. lil article i wrote some time ago. snapping turtle is a treat im happy to catch on any ocassion.

Re: Eating "trash" fish

You're more than welcome to my share of the drum Carl, but I'm keeping all of my catfish between 1-1/2 - 3lbs.

Catfish are my second fave freshwater fish, crappie are first.

I don't keep cats over 3 lbs. because our waters aren't the cleanest, the water isn't really that bad here... but ya still gotta draw the line somewhere.

These are the size I like to keep.
