Early System Check Tack Question

Going through some older post I came across one in which claims were made about problems with some of the older system check tachometers. Can anybody enlighten me on what years these issues were occurring? and what were the issues/problems. Thanks.

You'll need to be more explantory with your request. I personally started in this line of ework back in 1960 when there were no tachometers, than learned the systems as they came into being. As it stands, I have no idea of what you speak.

If you're asking about all of the tachometers made from day one and the possible problems they could encounter, that's going to be difficult if not impossible to answer.

When you say "system check", what's the model # of your mtr ??

My motor is a 1995 150 EXEOM , the boat, controls and tach are 1996.My question is regarding the system check tachs from roughly 1996 .

OMC had probs with those gauges back in those days giving off false warning alarms. Maybe you could find a loaner and try it.
