Re: Early Senility

I took my boat in to have some drive work done on it. I found an OLD SEA DOG to do the work. he's retired, but he was a boat mech until he retired, He was working on OMC when they were the newest thing on the block so I figured GREAT choice.

anyways. I took the boat to his "shop" (read his shed in his backyard) when I dropped it I have a brand new battery in it. jsut sitting where it goes, not hooked up. so I asked him " do we need to take that inside? or will it dissapear?"

without missing a beat he said "No worries, I have never had anything stolen from here in 20+ years... But I can't guarantee I'll remember where I put it if we take it out".. :D

Re: Early Senility

Its easy to put something small into a drawer.Problem is which drawer. I deal with this by putting the items in a small zip lock bag AND attaching IT TO THE ITEM THEY GO ON.. works for me

That's actually the method we used when changing parts on the Airbuses I used to work on. The hardware to hold it on was placed in a little bag and tied right near the part that was missing. You'd better tie it well though, nothing beats the sound of a mechanic picking up a little bag of screws and nuts off the floor and saying, "Where the hell did this come from?" and look up to see an airplane the size of a football field in pieces.

THAT is a sinking feeling.

The great thing about senility is that everyday is like a brand new adventure.
