E3reia 3hp evinrude carb difference

Hi I'm curious as to the main difference between the 3hp carb and the 4hp carb. On this motor the intake and reeds are the same for both 3and 4 horse engines. on the carburetor, Is it just jet size or both jet and venturi size? Thanks......Robert

What are you trying to do?

Noticing the difference between 3 and 4 HP is not practical or seen.

If you are looking at using a 4 HP carb, on a 3, for availability reasons-OK. As long as the linkage all works the same.

What I'm trying to do is sate my curiosity. that and only that. No dire straights here.

Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up the mtrs. You may find the differences.

I did.....There none except for the carburetors.....Hence my question....

I sense a new 4 horse carb in your future. Those tiny motors need all the help they can get.

Na, all ready have the same motor in a four horse and there is not so much as a whiskers difference in performance, at least from what I could tell. I was just curious from a mechanic perspective. These are fishing trolling motors and not zoom fast motors. The three horse little gas tank even out last my stamina for fishing and has gone 5 hours trolling. Thanks for the responses.....Robert
