E tec or mercury

I am buying a new boat and have a choice of Etec or Mercury 60 hp. Cost is the same. Which should I choose? Boat 16 foot crest liner.

My vote goes for the E-TEC.

Buy the Merc. If you are on vacation and ever need to get the Etec repaired, you will drive by 5 Merc dealers before you stumble upon an Evinrude dealer.

The correct comparison would be between an ETEC and an Merc Optimax. Is that the choice?
