I have acquired a duracraft V-hull aluminum boat, year unknown. The boat has a closed bow. The bow cover is a fairly thin sheet of metal with a few supports to hold it up.... not really strong enough to stand on. i would like to make it so that i can stand on it. ant thoughts on how to reinforce it in order to hold the weight of an average person.

Wood or aluminum supports need to be added. It is almost best to use both so you do not dent the heck out of it while you are walking on it.

Re: Duracraft V-hull

I was thinking of using a couple of 2X4s under the thin sheet metal and cutting some plywood the shape of the bow and use that as the deck. i wuold round the edges and make it look nise. mabey atatch a low (2-3 inch) rail around it for looks. but im reading alot about problems with wood and alluminum boats that sounds like it will cause corrosion. hmmm

The corrosion issue is just with pressure treated.
