What engine/driveline
Tag seems to indicate an 18ft Challenger model

What state are you in, a 1974 boat should have a HIN tag on the back of the transom and match the paperwork (registration & title).

W/out paperwork, some states make it very difficult to legally reg/title it. Trailer too

That was quick! Good to see an active forum! I'm actually in Canada, rules are a little different up here for registration. it's got a 140hp mercruiser inboard engine.
I'm restoring the boat and just needed to know the model for finding parts. Thanks for the info!

The engine model and SN will be what you need to get engine parts. There are no oem parts available for a 48 year old boat. Things like seats, steering wheels, cleats, etc. are only available aftermarket.

yeah, I get that, I was just curious as to what I actually had. it'll be restored but it'll be done to my liking. Boat is solid and the engine runs perfect. Needs a complete interior but it'll be custom, I have the skills necessary to do it myself, it's the rails and stuff for the bow and stern, canopy, stuff like that that I wanted the model for so I'd have something to reference when shopping.

get it registered in your name before restoring it.

so another question, I'm not too familiar with these old boats, but isn't there supposed to be a reservoir on the bottom of the trim pump pr is it self contained ? Also, what is the other piece of gear up on the side and the small piece under the blower motor? TIA
