Re: Duo 3V7

I ended up parting mine out after not being able to sell it, I still have some items but most are gone. Mine was a 17' so a lot will differ from yours. There was a 3V5 for sale not far from here but it was pretty rough. It too had an 85 HP outboard. I ended up parting mine out because I had a better offer for the motor than for the whole boat. The rest was just bonus. I sold the hull to a guy that made sort of a bass boat out of it. I was pretty surprised at how well they were built, it was built like a tank. The fiberglass is double layered, they sandwiched the flotation between two layers of glass, so it can never get wet. The deck was supported on what appeared to be glassed in redwood or cedar stringers. It was a bit heavy for it's size due to construction but it would have outlasted modern civilization. Mine is now being used as a lake boat with a small outboard. He removed the upper cap, built a new gunwale top edge and built a custom transom and splashwell and filled in the I/O hole. It was when he was working on the transom and gunwale caps when we realized how it was built.

Re: Duo 3V7

I just picked up a 1972 17' Duo 3V7. It has a 1969 Merc 650 thunderbolt engine. Engine runs but the boat needs restoration. I am just starting to plan it out now for next year. I am trying to locate an owners manual. I found a web site for Duo advertising 1973's new line but that is about it. Any Help would certainly be appreciated.

Re: Duo 3V7

Hi guys I have a Duo spoiler in the back yard. I cut the floor out of her a couple of years ago. It needs the stringers, foam, floor, and transom plus there is a small fixable hole in the hull. I just got a Starcraft American so I am planning on cutting the Duo up and getting rid of it.I think it is a 1972 and Duo was only made for a few years b4 selling out to Starcraft. But I am no expert so I could be wrong.:)

Hi Guys. I'm aware this is an old post but I am just doing my research. I scored a beautiful 1969 Duo 3v7 for free. All original including the Holsclaw C-1475 trailer. I just have to fix the 1991 90hp Evinrude. I'm excited to see where this journey takes me. I'm noticing that there is very limited information on this craft so this is my start. Thanks

Since you know this is an old thread, you hijack one over 6 years old. Shame, shame. LOL
