Thanks in advance,

I am having issues with my motor, one of which is shown in the picture. After running the motor for 2 hours, mostly at idle or no wake speed (due to motor issues), a dark black oil is running out of the prop opening and a small hole in the lower unit (pictured).

My "mechanic" says that this is normal but is it ?

It's normal, it's soot in the exhaust tube. Mine does it bad right after I decarb.

2 hours is a lot of idling, maybe you should run the motor wide open every now and then to "burn off" excess carbon/oil in cylinders and exhaust. Maybe run a can of Seafoam in your next tank of fuel to help clean motor. Good Luck!

Thanks,

I am trying to get past Idle, having problems with anything over that, runs for a couple of minutes and the splutters and dies.

I am working right now to eliminate the air that is getting into the lines and a then a less than knowledgeable mechanic.
